Christina Francis

Joint Chair

As an active member of the Sacred Heart and Holy Souls Parish, I have volunteered to support the Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School in the role of a Foundation Governor. Being in the IT Industry for almost eighteen years in various roles I would bring in my skills of Customer Support, Business Analysis, Project and Portfolio Management and Change Assurance to this role. It is a privilege to be associated with the Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School and be able to contribute to the best of my ability. My vision for the school is to support achieving its strategic goals successfully alongside attaining and sustaining an ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating.

Mike Jones

Staff Governor

My name is Michael Jones and I am the staff governor at Archbishop Ilsley. I have taught history here for twelve years having previously worked at another school in our MAC, Holy Trinity for five years. I love teaching at Archbishop Ilsley and am very excited to see the direction the school goes in over the coming years. It is a school with massive potential and plays a huge part in the local community.

I also came here as a pupil many years ago and feel proud to work at a place that has played such an important part in my life. My vision for the school is for it to continue to provide opportunities for our pupils through trips and other extracurricular activities but also to ensure our pupils leave here with the best grades possible to give them the best life chances.

Governor

I have been a foundation governor at Archbishop Ilsley since June 2023. I am an Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for quality of education, at another secondary school within the diocese. Having attended Archbishop Ilsley as a past pupil, I am familiar with the school and its wider community.  As part of my role as governor, I intend to use my professional experience to support the school so that both pupil outcomes and experiences successfully enable pupils to move forward in the next phase of their lives.

Governor

I am an ex-pupil and ex-parent. I am a teaching assistant at St Ambrose Barlow School.

My vision for Archbishop Ilsley is to move all pupils and staff forward in society and ensure the Catholic ethos is at the forefront of all that we do.

James Winterman

Parent Governor

I have lived in Acocks Green for almost 20 years and have two children making their way through Archbishop Ilsley and eventually will complete their full school life in the St Teresa MAC. Having served as a Parent governor at Holy Souls for 10 years I hope that the skills I learnt there combined with my personal interest in seeing the children at ABI thrive and succeed will enable me to work with the rest of the Governors to improve and help the senior leadership team at ABI succeed.
