MEET THE GOVERNORS
CHAIR OF GOVERNORS
I am a practising Catholic and a past pupil of Archbishop Ilsley, all of my three children were educated here. After leaving school I worked in the NHS for 36 years as an Audiologist. My experience in the NHS has given me the skills to manage and work with people. I have also been a Scout Leader in South East Birmingham for the last forty two years, lately working as the Safeguarding Co-ordinator for Birmingham. I have been Chair of Governors for the last twelve years. My vision for school is that we achieve outstanding and continue to sustain a safe and happy learning environment for all pupils and staff.
My son was in year 10 when I became a parent governor four and a half years ago. I have worked in sales and logistics for thirty three years. My vision for Archbishop Ilsley is to help the school on its journey to achieve an outstanding OFSTED inspection and to live out its mission to be just and firm of purpose.
I have been associated with the school for thirty two years as all of my children have been educated here and my husband was a teacher at the school. I have been a governor of the school for fifteen years. I am a practising Catholic and I was a Headteacher of a Catholic primary school before I retired. I want to see Archbishop Ilsley reach excellence, academically, spiritually and morally.
I was involved with the Labour Party and became Chairman of Sparkhill Constituency; this gave me a lot of experience in running meetings, reading, filtering and understanding extensive lengthy documentation.
