Sports Tours

For those that show high levels of commitment to school sport we offer sports tours. In previous years we have been to Barcelona, Disneyland Paris and Valencia for sports such as Basketball, Netball and Football.

Sports Captains

Year 9 pupils apply for the role of Sports Captain for their house. They have responsibility for all major sporting events such as Ilsley Day, House Championships and Interhouse competitions. As ambassadors for the department they are given many opportunities within sport.

We also offer exciting enrichment opportunities outside of the classroom environment. These include a wealth of trips across a broad range of sports and wide range of extra-curricular clubs every day of the week.

Our Physical Education department provides an engaging and rigorous foundation for the study of Physical Education and Sport at KS3, KS4 and KS5.

Our KS3 curriculum provides pupils with an opportunity to experience a variety of sports in a carousel of activities. From this pupils are able to identify their strengths, areas for improvements and hopefully activities of interest. This creates a wide and rich experience for all pupils.

In Year 11 pupils have the opportunity to participate in offsite activities.

GCSE Physical Education offers pupils the opportunity to develop skills in a wide range of sports and activities and helps pupils to improve their own performance. Pupils are able to learn about exercise, how the body works and then through training how performance can be improved. Assessment is in the form of two exams, practical and analysis of performance.

OCR Cambridge Nationals

OCR provides pupils with the opportunity to apply theoretical knowledge about different types of sport and physical activity.
