I really appreciate the fact that I am trusted as a teacher to teach my classes the best way that I see fit in as much as this education system allows. This freedom gives me the space that I need to develop student’s literacy, an important component of my subject, and to raise aspiration in whatever possible e.g. conversations about university with year 8 students. I appreciate that I do not work in an environment where I am micromanaged and ticking boxes at the expense of the bigger picture.
