Message from the Head Teacher

I am writing this at 2.30 p.m. on a beautiful autumn day. The leaves are changing colour, the weather is getting much colder and we are only days away from our half-term break.

Yesterday someone asked me how I was feeling about being Head Teacher. I’ve been in post for 8 weeks now and I can honestly say I am enjoying every minute. It is a privilege and a blessing to be Head Teacher of Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School and the last 8 weeks have been wonderful.

I would like to say a very personal thank you to the parents and carers who have said such kind things to me over the last 8 weeks. Your kindness and overwhelming support have made such a difference, especially on days when life is very busy and demanding. I’d like to thank my staff and students for supporting me and the changes we are making to improve the life chances of the young people in our care.

Over the break I would be grateful if all parents and carers could check that their child’s uniform is still fully compliant with our policy. The standard of uniform has been superb since the start of term and it is my intention that all students will remain 100% compliant.

May I wish all of you a peaceful and enjoyable half-term break.

God Bless

Miss Burrows Head Teacher
