Corona Virus Update 23rd March 2020

School is now closed until further notice. Thank you for following government advice and keeping your child at home to help slow down the spread of Coronavirus.

On Friday afternoon we received information from the government regarding those students who were due to take public examinations in Y11 and Y13. We have been told that students will receive  grades and this will be based on a number of factors including prior attainment data and teacher assessment. We are still waiting for more guidance on how this process will work but it is the aim of the government to have these grades distributed to students by the end of July.

For those students who are in receipt of free school meals, packed lunches are available for collection from school reception this week. If your child is entitled to free school meals and requires a school packed lunch please contact us before 3 p.m. the day before so that we can order supplies. We are providing packed lunches this week and are working on Tesco vouchers for next week. Please be patient with us; we are doing our best to organise everything in a very short space of time and with a skeleton staff.

If you are a key worker the government advice is to keep your child at home if at all possible and to only access the provision in school if absolutely necessary. Should you need to access provision, please telephone the school to advise us. You will be asked to provide proof that you are a key worker.

I will update you later in the week but please know that you are all in our thoughts and prayers. These are extraordinary times and we must take this situation seriously. I pray that all of you keep safe and well

God Bless

Miss Burrows
