Corona Virus Update 27th March 2020

I would like to thank all parents and carers for following government advice this week in terms of keeping your children at home. As I am sure you all aware, restrictions on our movements came into effect from Monday evening and the government advice regarding schools remains the same; please keep your children at home to reduce the spread of Covid-19.

Birmingham City Council have been working on a city wide approach of vouchers for children who are entitled to free school meals. We are expecting them to contact us later on today with instructions and guidance on how these will be distributed. As soon as we have the voucher codes, we will work to get these out to you as soon as possible but this is likely to be at the beginning of next week. Could I please ask parents and carers to continue to be patient with us as we wait for the vouchers to be released to us. In the meantime, if you need a packed lunch for your child on Monday please let us know today. Thank you for your ongoing support with this.

As of yet I do not have any further information as to whether school will be open again after the Easter holidays. I am working on the assumption that this is highly unlikely, but we are dealing with a rapidly changing situation and we will respond to any updates from the government as soon as we can.

I will update the website again next week when I have more information about vouchers for free school meals.

Last night I participated in the applause for the NHS in my street. I am sure many of you did the same. It was very moving and a stark reminder that we are living through very difficult times. Please know that you all remain in my thoughts and prayers and I hope everyone keeps safe and well.

God Bless
