‘The joy that radiates from those attracted by Christ and by his Spirit is what can make any missionary initiative fruitful.’ – Pope Francis
Dear Parents and Carers,
As we head into the October half-term break, may we continue to be prayerful and turn to the Lord for guidance, hope and spirit.
It has been a fantastic start to the academic year and I am sure you are all delighted that there has been much less disruption. We could not be more proud of how well our pupils returned in September eager to learn and take part in all of the opportunities we offer at Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School.
Fortunately we have had very few positive cases of Covid-19 since we returned to school in September. We encourage pupils to continue twice weekly testing to support us in keeping our community as safe as possible and to help minimise disruption. We have plenty of home testing kits available in school and your child can collect one from their form tutor.
Thank you to those parents and carers who attended our parent events. We felt it was very important for us to touch base with you, especially for those parents and carers who have not had the opportunity to meet us in person due to the pandemic.
Your feedback from these events will help us to make future decisions about the format of parents’ evenings and I would like to say a very personal ‘thank you’ for the many kind and supportive comments about our lovely school.
‘I have really appreciated having the chance to see the passion and dedication of all the staff here tonight.’
‘I feel inspired by the talk and really want to help my daughter thrive…’
‘I think the Character Education is excellent.’
‘Felt like walking into ‘home’; very comforting and warming welcome by all.’
As pupils return to us in November could I please ask all parents and carers to ensure that their child has a suitable winter coat for the colder weather. Pupils must also return in full school uniform and we will continue to insist that all adhere to our policy regarding jewellery.
I wish everyone a very happy and enjoyable half-term break.
God Bless
Miss Burrows
