Dear Parents and Carers,
We have been monitoring the weather forecast over the weekend. It is set to be 39 degrees in Acocks Green which means the majority of classrooms will be over 40 degrees by the middle of the day. We do not believe these conditions are safe for pupils or staff. School will close at 1230 on Monday and on Tuesday. Pupils who are entitled to free school meals will be able to collect a cold lunch from the canteen at 1230 on both days.
Remote learning will be set for periods 4 and 5 on Monday and pupils may wear P.E. kit to school for the next few days.
We apologise for any inconvenience but the temperatures are unprecedented and we must consider the safety of pupils and staff.
