After a very busy week with lots of announcements and changes, I hope that this week things will feel a little more settled for everyone.
Please read the following information carefully:
Pupils of Key Worker Parents:
On Friday the DfE changed its guidance to advise that if you are a key worker, you should only send your child to school if it is absolutely necessary. We are all aware that the infection rate in the country is very high and at present, it is also particularly high in the local community. We strongly advise all parents and carers to keep their children at home to decrease the risk of infection, particularly as the new strain of the virus is particularly infectious.
If you are a key worker and do need to send your child to school, you must let us know in advance, stating the days you need your child to attend school, so that we can plan for sufficient staffing. Please do not send your child to school without telling us in advance and in all cases we will ask for proof of key worker status.
Free School Meals:
We believe that vouchers are going to be made available and will update you when we have more information. For now, you can order a packed lunch which can be collected from reception. Again, please let us know if you wish to order a lunch for your child as they have to be prepared in advance.
Y11 and Y13:
Last week the government cancelled exams for Y11 and Y13 and informed us that grades will be awarded by teachers. We are now waiting for advice on how these grades should be decided and an update is expected towards the end of the month. It is critically important that pupils in Y11 and Y13 keep working, as we may be asked to provide evidence of their work as part of the grade awarding process.
Once again we find ourselves in very challenging times and I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
