Letter from Miss Burrows - February Half Term Letter

February 2021

Dear Parents/Carers,

As we approach the end of this half-term, I would like to thank you for your ongoing support and understanding during what continues to be a challenging time for everyone.

This week we are mourning the loss of Trina Clarke, our much loved Senior Attendance Officer and Office Manager. Trina was an outstanding professional and a very popular member of our school family with pupils and staff. Her death was a shock to all of us and she will be greatly missed by everyone. Our thoughts and prayers are with Trina’s family; please remember them in your prayers over the coming weeks.

At present we do not have a date for when pupils will return to school and are waiting for further information from the government. We are expecting an announcement in the week beginning 22nd February and we will update you as soon as we have more information.

Remote learning will be paused during the half-term holiday and it is important that pupils and staff have a proper break. Online lessons will resume from Monday 22nd February.

We are also expecting news on the outcome of the consultation for Y11 and Y13 grading after half-term. At present Y11 and Y13 are engaged in completing assessments and it is imperative that pupils complete these as they will form part of an evidence base for the awarding of grades. Once we have clarification on the outcome of the consultation we will write to you outlining the process that will take place for grading.

It’s been fantastic to see so many applications to our wonderful sixth form. We are still accepting applications and we hope that many more of our Y11 pupils will apply. If you need further information, please contact Mr El’Habid or Ms O’Neill.

May I wish all of you a very happy and restful break and I will be in touch again after half-term.

God Bless

Miss Burrows
