Message from the Head Teacher 04th May 2020

Dear Students, Parents and Carers,

There is no doubt that the last 6 weeks have been both unusual and challenging in equal measure. Living through a national emergency has been a test for all of us and no doubt we have further difficulties ahead of us. I hope that everyone is safe and well and is surviving lockdown as well as possible.

There has been much speculation in the media about when and how schools might reopen. We are expecting further information later this week and I will provide you with an update when I know more. It is impossible to predict what the details will be, but I think we are expecting the government to say that there will be only partial reopening for some year groups and schools will need time to make plans.

At the end of last week I wrote to Year 11 students - please see below for a copy of this letter. I will be writing to year 13 later this week.

For now, the situation remains the same. School is closed to the majority of pupils with provision only available for identified families and children of key workers whose parents need childcare. Staff are setting work on Google Classrooms and I would also recommend the online lessons on BBC Bitesize. There is a designated Covid-19 page on our website with lots of suggestions and information to support pupils and families.

Please stay at home and stay safe.

God Bless

Miss Burrows
