Message from the Head Teacher 11th May 2020

I used to pray that God would feed the hungry, or do this or that, but now I pray that he will guide me to do whatever I’m supposed to do, what I can do. I used to pray for answers, but now I’m praying for strength. I used to believe that prayer changes things, but now I know that prayer changes us and we change things’.

(St Teresa of Calcutta).

I am sure many of us watched the Prime Minister's briefing last night with a great sense of anticipation. Whilst we have some idea of how lockdown restrictions will be eased, there are still a lot of details that need to be clarified.

In terms of school, it looks unlikely that we will be open immediately after May half-term. There are discussions around primary schools having a phased reopening, but for now all we know about secondary schools is that we may have some time with Y10 and Y12 before the summer holidays. We must also prepare for the possibility that most children will not return to school until the start of the new academic year in September.

In the interim, we will continue to set work on Google Classroom and I will update you with any details that may be provided over the coming days. Please check the school website regularly as this is where I will post all updates.

May God bless all of you and keep you safe

Miss Burrows
