Dear Parents/Carers and Students,
I would like to start by extending a warm virtual welcome back to the last half-term of the academic year. I hope that everyone had a peaceful and pleasant half-term holiday.
Over the May half-term the government issued guidance on what provision secondary schools can offer to year 10 and year 12 students and I am now in a position to provide you with more information. For year 10, we will be offering the students an opportunity to come into school to meet with subject staff so that they can offer support with online learning and gather information for their planning for next September. These sessions will be academic review style meetings and not timetabled lessons.
We are hoping to offer Y12 a 2-3 hour session for each subject before the end of the school year.
The organisation of these sessions needs careful planning in terms of safety and logistics and we are already working behind the scenes to ensure that our plans are as comprehensive and as safe as possible. We do need to have some idea of whether your child will be attending and would ask that you read the letters at the bottom of this post and respond accordingly. Once we have the required responses we will write to you with further information such as dates, times and safety procedures for attending school.
At present there are no plans for other year groups to return and for all year groups the main form of provision will remain as remote learning for the rest of the academic year, unless we are told otherwise.
The website is where you will receive all of the latest updates about school and the current situation and I would strongly encourage all families to check this on a regular basis.
For now, please be assured that we are working hard to get plans for Y10 and Y12 in place as quickly as possible and that all of our students and their families remain in our thoughts and prayers.
