We are now approaching the half-term holiday and I would like to thank you for your support at the start of this academic year. School life has returned to some greater sense of normality since the pandemic and it is great to see pupils settled back into routines.
It’s been a busy half-term but a very successful one. Lots of our pupils have had the opportunities to go out on trips and visits and as I write this, a number of Y9 pupils are getting ready to go to Belgium to see the battlefields of World War I. There has been lots of fantastic work completed in lessons and Y11 are showing great determination and commitment with their period 6 lessons.
This half-term has also had great moments of sadness with the death of Queen Elizabeth II. Most of us have grown up only ever knowing her as our monarch and her death marked the end of a very significant era. May she rest in peace and we continue to pray for our new king.
Over the half-term break we would ask all parents and carers that they ensure their children are ready to return after the holiday in full, correct uniform and with the equipment they need. We will be having a full uniform check during the first week back and pupils who are not compliant will be challenged and sanctioned. May we remind parents and carers that hoodies are not permitted in school and that as the weather turns cooler, pupils will need a warm coat and correct footwear. Thank you for your support in this matter.
May I wish everyone a happy and restful half-term holiday.
