A rare opportunity has arisen to help lead this forward thinking and high profile department. This is an exciting role for an innovative teacher who is ready to take on post-holder responsibilities as we prepare our students for GCSE and beyond. This may suit an exceptional recently qualified teacher who is looking for progress rapidly with their career.

As well as working closely with the RS department, the successful candidate will work with other heads of year to support the whole school in the successful running and development of the pastoral systems and character education programme. Applicants will be required to maintain standards of pupil progress, behaviour and attendance across the whole school.

·      A good understanding of recent curriculum/learning developments.

·      An understanding of the strategies required to engage and enthuse all pupils across the ability range as part of a whole school approach to raising achievement.

·      Ability to review, analyse and respond to data

Archbishop Ilsley is a large oversubscribed Catholic Secondary School in Acocks Green on the border of Hall Green and Yardley in Birmingham that caters for pupils between the ages of 11 and 18. There are 210 pupils in each year and the sixth form is predicted to grow considerably over the next five years. GCSE and A Level results are strong; GCSE results increased by 4% last year.
