Anna Jordan

Vice Chair of Governors

It is with great enthusiasm and dedication that I embrace the opportunity to serve as a Foundation Governor at Archbishop Ilsley.

With over two decades of experience as a science teacher, I bring a wealth of knowledge and a deep commitment to fostering academic excellence.

My active involvement in pastoral care within my current school has equipped me with a profound understanding of the importance of nurturing not only intellectual growth but also the emotional and social well-being of our students.

As a Governor, I am excited to integrate the principles of Catholic social teaching into the fabric of our ABI community, emphasising values such as justice, compassion, and community service. I look forward to contributing to the spiritual and educational journey of our students, working collaboratively with fellow governors, educators, and parents to ensure our school continues to thrive as a beacon of Catholic education in Birmingham.

Oliver McCormack

Foundation Governor

I’m born and raised in the local area, Hall Green, Acocks Green and Solihull. I've done
many different jobs so far, starting in retail, moving onto nursing and then working for West
Mercia Police. Then I got the opportunity, about 8 years ago now, to join West Midlands
Ambulance Service to be a paramedic – which I love doing! I’ve had various roles within the
ambulance service but am currently the developmental ops manager. I’ve got 2 beautiful
girls: one has just started at ABI and the older one is about to start the GCSE course in Year
10. I am intend to build on the great work of former governors such as Mary Mills and
George Doyle and help propel Ilsley even further forward. I am the link governor for
safeguarding along with Karen Henry.

Mike Jones

Staff Governor

My name is Michael Jones and I am the staff governor at Archbishop Ilsley. I have taught history here for twelve years having previously worked at another school in our MAC, Holy Trinity for five years. I love teaching at Archbishop Ilsley and am very excited to see the direction the school goes in over the coming years. It is a school with massive potential and plays a huge part in the local community.

I also came here as a pupil many years ago and feel proud to work at a place that has played such an important part in my life. My vision for the school is for it to continue to provide opportunities for our pupils through trips and other extracurricular activities but also to ensure our pupils leave here with the best grades possible to give them the best life chances.

Melissa Lally

Foundation Governor

I have been a foundation governor at Archbishop Ilsley since June 2023. I am an Assistant Headteacher, with responsibility for quality of education, at another secondary school within the diocese. Having attended Archbishop Ilsley as a past pupil, I am familiar with the school and its wider community.  As part of my role as governor, I intend to use my professional experience to support the school so that both pupil outcomes and experiences successfully enable pupils to move forward in the next phase of their lives.

James Winterman

Parent Governor

I have lived in Acocks Green for almost 20 years and have two children making their way through Archbishop Ilsley and eventually will complete their full school life in the St Teresa MAC. Having served as a Parent governor at Holy Souls for 10 years I hope that the skills I learnt there combined with my personal interest in seeing the children at ABI thrive and succeed will enable me to work with the rest of the Governors to improve and help the senior leadership team at ABI succeed.
