SEND stands for Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. This can impact a child’s ability to learn, and at Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School, we are keen to ensure that any additional needs a pupil may have does not have a negative impact on their education. We have pupils with a range of additional needs and make reasonable adjustments to our teaching and learning.
Below you will find further information that may be helpful if your child has a special educational need or disability. If you have concerns, please contact the school and speak in the first instance to Mr Simmons (SENDCO).
The SEND Code of Practice defines SEND under four broad areas of need:
Where children and young people have visual and/or hearing impairments, or a physical need that means they must have additional ongoing support and equipment.
