“The heaviest penalty for declining to rule is to be ruled by someone inferior to yourself.”
Plato, The Republic
In KS5, students can choose to study A level Government and Politics which enables students to develop an insight into political beliefs, central to an understanding of the modern world. The course will give our students a foundation of political knowledge on which to develop skills for citizenship and further study. With an emphasis on contemporary politics and current areas of constitutional concern, it puts the UK in the context of the EU and the wider world.
Students will learn the fundamentals of the subject and develop skills valued by higher education and employers, including critical analysis, independent thinking and research.
