Pastoral Support

As a Sixth Former at Archbishop Ilsley, you will have a dedicated Personal Tutor with whom you will spend quality time with every day.  This time is dedicated to extending your skills and tailoring these to Level 3 study as well as ensuring that we are helping you to become well-rounded citizens, able for life after Sixth Form.

In your Tutor Time you are supported in your transition to KS5 studies and are encouraged to develop the skills and attributes that will make you both valuable and valued members of society when you leave us.


Focuses include:

  • Support with involvement in the Catholic Life of our school community and beyond including involvement in prayer, masses and charity fundraising

  • Impact Reports to encourage specific, measurable and realistic targets in accordance with progress, attainment and target grades

  • Developing study skills, including getting to know their Level 3 courses well

  • Supporting you in meeting expectations for attendance and punctuality

  • Personal organisation for success in study

  • Developing wider key skills to support UCAS applications and your development as valuable members of our school and the wider community

  • Using PLCs, Personal Learning Charts to audit current progress and areas for development

  • Applications to University and the entire UCAS process

  • Integration into the House system of the school and leadership of the younger students in our community
