Compass+

At Archbishop Ilsley Catholic School we use Compass+ as part of our careers education and guidance programme. Compass+ is a digital careers-planning and evaluation tool recommended by the Department for Education. It helps us track, manage and improve the careers support we offer to every student.

With Compass+ we can:

  • Monitor individual careers journeys by recording the activities students take part in and how they engage with careers learning.

  • Measure our careers programme against national best-practice standards (the eight Gatsby Benchmarks).

  • Use tools like the Future Skills Questionnaire to understand each pupil’s readiness for their next steps and tailor support where it’s needed most.

  • Evaluate what’s working well and plan improvements to ensure all students have access to meaningful careers experiences and information.

By using Compass+ we make sure our careers education is targeted, effective and personalised — helping every pupil to explore options and make confident choices about their future.

We review our programme on a termly basis using the Careers and Enterprise Company’s COMPASS evaluation tool. Please see our last 4 evaluations here:
